FAIRMONT —
An accident at the Robinson Run Preparation Plant in Harrison County has resulted in two employees being sent to the hospital. A third is unaccounted for.
According to Consol officials, the accident was apparently caused by a refuse embankment giving way, which resulted in three vehicles sliding down into a slurry pond. Two pickup trucks and a bulldozer ended up in the pond.
One employee was sent to a local hospital and was reported in good condition, officials say. A second was transported by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
State and federal mining officials are on scene for recovery and to investigate the cause of the incident. No further details are known at this time.
