FAIRMONT —
Work on Fairmont’s city budget for the next fiscal year is well under way, according to City Manager Jay Rogers.
Rogers said that the process began in November when department heads were given instructions for submitting their capital and operating budgets.
In addition, capital revenue and operating revenue forecasts were developed before the first of the year. City council and department heads turned in their fiscal year 2014 capital requests in December and outside agency requests were mailed out in January.
“These are sent to nonprofit and community organizations that have requested financial assistance from the city as well as the entities we are mandated to contribute to by the state code,” Rogers said.
