FAIRMONT —
An information exchange meeting between the Division of Highways and local residents was held Wednesday at the Woman’s Club of Fairmont.
The meeting was an opportunity for community members to interact with engineers from the Division of Highways and ask questions pertaining to the replacement and relocation of what is currently the Fourth Street bridge.
Due to its deteriorating condition, fixing the current bridge is not a viable option, so a new bridge will be constructed at Third Street.
“People really need to be involved in the community because we’re interested in community development,” Bob Gribben, director of Fairmont Community Development Partnership, said. “What people really needed was information so that they would know what’s coming so we wouldn’t be having surprises.”
