On Jan. 28, 2013, Michael Ian Palmer goes on trial for the first-degree shooting death of his father-in-law, Everett “Eddie” Wilson a year ago at Palmer’s Baxter home.
In the year since the Dec. 11, 2011, crime, defense attorney Shawn Murphy has acquired “tons” of CDs, DVDs and recordings with “tens of thousands” of pieces of evidence.
“It would take (all) of 2013, working 50 weeks full time, to analyze all this,” he told Marion Circuit Judge Michael Aloi at a pretrial motion hearing Thursday afternoon.
To cut down on the paperwork, he asked Aloi to require Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Patrick Wilson to submit a list of exhibits, witnesses and evidence he plans to use in the trial.
For one thing, he wants to know what pieces of evidence of prior bad acts Wilson plans to use against Palmer.
