FAIRMONT —
It’s exactly one month until the general elections in November, and both parties will tell you that the fate of the nation is going to come down to your vote.
The voter registration deadline for Marion County is Oct. 16, which is a little less than a week and a half away. If you plan to vote in November, you must be registered before the deadline passes.
Marion County Clerk Janice Cosco said that a majority of Marion County is registered to vote in the general election, and a vast majority of that number are “active” voters, meaning that they’ve voted in at least one election in the last five years.
There are currently almost 42,000 registered voters in the county, based on records kept at Cosco’s office.
