Michael Palmer has a new trial date, his fourth since July 2012.
The Baxter resident, charged with the capital murder of his father-in-law, Everett Wilson, will go on trial in July for the December 2011 crime. He had been set to go on trial April 15, the same date as his wife, Kristyn Palmer, also charged with the same crime.
This request was the first volley in a barrage of motions filed by Palmer’s attorney, Stephen Sean Murphy, Friday morning before Marion County Circuit Judge Michael Aloi.
Additional arguments focused on admissibility of marital communication, whether the shooting was the result of a “simple mistake” about property transfer and whether Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies followed proper legal protocol with Palmer the night of the shooting.
