FAIRMONT —
Fairmont City Police are investigating an early morning shooting Tuesday that left one man injured but very few clues.
According to Lt. Steve Shine, investigations officer with Fairmont police, Samuel Hine and a woman identified as his girlfriend had just left a bar and were walking along the 500 block of Front Street in Fairmont when an unidentified vehicle drove by and two to three shots rang out.
The 35-year-old Marion County man was struck in the left thigh with one of the bullets. Another bullet struck a silver-colored car parked nearby.
There were no visual witnesses, Shine said. Police are canvassing the neighborhood, talking with people who said they heard the shots.
There are few clues, he said, because the pair did not see the vehicle and could not identify it.
There are no suspects at the time, Shine said. The investigation is continuing.
