Tonya Snodgrass puts customers’ needs first

FAIRMONT — Vina Ice was having a bad day.

A family member out of town was having a financial emergency and Vina had gone to Wal-Mart to send her some money to help ease the problem with help from the ATM there.

But Vina was nervous and having some difficulties. So she found just the right person to give her some help: Tonya Snodgrass.

“She was so cheerful, I lost most of my nervousness,” Vina said.

Wal-Mart employees

Tonya is employed by the Wal-Mart Bank, which is open seven days a week.

For her, customer service did not have to be taught. It was instilled in her by her family.

So it was easy for her to apply a little extra customer service recently when a local woman was having difficulties.

“She had come in and was having a family emergency,” Tonya said. “Wal-Mart can transfer money, but their machine was down,” she said. “She came over and was all frustrated. And she had never worked with any other machine.
