Teen killed in ATV accident
RACHEL — A juvenile female was killed in an ATV accident around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Graham Road, according to Marion County Dispatch.
Marion Dispatch said two teenagers were riding an ATV along an old railroad bed when they lost control of the vehicle while crossing a bridge over Buffalo Creek. The pair fell more than 30 feet into the water below.
Farmington Fire Chief Jim Toothman said the girl died as a result of traumatic injuries sustained from the fall. He also said that neither of the teenagers was wearing a helmet.
The girl’s name is not being released to the media pending notification of the first of kin.
“It was very tragic,” Toothman said.
