EVERSON — Matt Pellillo came within a few shots of winning his first Green Hills-Homer Delovich Memorial Golf Championship last year here at the 5,800-yard, par-70 Green Hills Country Club.
In the end, though, Morgantown’s Steve VanHorn edged out the youngster by three strokes for the victory. Today in the first round of the annual two-day, 36-hole Green Hills Open Pellillo has his sights set on making another run at the title.
“Last year was a great experience for me,” said Pellillo, who recently signed to finish his college golf career with Fairmont State University.
