FAIRMONT — The most recent judge’s ruling in the Lincoln Taylor murder case will bring a new prosecutor to Marion County for the third trial.
And in the next few weeks, the West Virginia Prosecuting Attorney’s Institute will come back with a recommendation for the import.
Not only did defense attorney Paul J. Harris remove himself from the case earlier this month because he may be called to testify in the trial, but Marion Prosecutor Pat Wilson was also granted a request to disqualify himself from the case this week, according to court documents.
Wilson and his team have served as the state’s prosecution against Taylor in the first two trials, which ended in mistrials. Taylor stands accused of pulling the trigger that killed Derrick “Lil’ D” Osborne on Memorial Day 2007 and is currently set to go to trial for the third time during the upcoming Marion County Circuit Court term.
