RIVESVILLE —
Water work continues and several ordinances went into effect at Rivesville’s town council meeting Tuesday evening.
Mayor Jim Hershman and council members Lauronza Harmon, Mark Dorsey, Bill Newhouse and Donnie Edwards voted to requisition $920,688.81 to pay contractors, using a majority of funds received through a small cities grant.
Hershman also announced that, as of this month, three major ordinances are taking effect or being more strictly enforced for Rivesville citizens. One involves grass clippings; one is for rental property owners; the last is for fire fees on abandoned/vacant buildings in the city.

Hearing set for murder suspects
The two men indicted in the 1974 triple Windmill Park murders will share a pretrial hearing on June 25.
According to records obtained at the Marion County Circuit Court, a hearing for Eddie Jack Washington and Phillip Reese Bush is set for 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in front of Circuit Judge Michael Aloi. -
