FAIRMONT — Dr. Babu Devabhakthuni knew he wanted to be a doctor from a very young age, but it took him a few rotations in medical school before he settled on pediatrics.
“I just enjoyed being with the children,” said Devabhakthuni, who established Pediatric Partners in Fairmont with Dr. Sree Mulpuru in 1978. “That was part of it. And also, the challenges of diagnosis in children — how to diagnose children and once you diagnose and treat them, they respond so well most of the time. The majority of diseases respond so well and it’s rewarding to see them recover and be back to normal in a few days.”
A native of Guntur, India, Devabhakthuni attended Andhra Loyola College, where he majored in biology, and then went on to Guntur Medical College.
