BOOTHSVILLE — “Gene Cartwright of the Boothsville area is one of Marion County’s most genuine persons. He is understanding, compassionate, hardworking and selfless, which is quite evident as he devotes countless hours to various community projects and participates in church functions.
“He most enjoys spending time with his loving family as well as his endless number of friends. Gene Cartwright is an inspiration to all that know him. His smile and laugh light up a room and are uplifting to those who are around him.”
These are the words of Shellie Williams, who wished to honor her friend.
“The Kuhn’s Run Park is one of Gene’s special projects and he takes great pride in (the park’s) appearance and (continued existence). Gene has always been involved in the Kuhn’s Run community, which is not where he lives, but he has been totally dedicated to the park.”
