FAIRMONT — The state School Building Authority has awarded the Marion County Board of Education a $1 million grant to supplement repairs at Fairmont Senior High School.
Earlier this fall, the MCBOE applied for a Major Improvement Project grant from the SBA. Those grants are different from the much larger Needs Project grants that are awarded in the spring. MIPs are generally smaller in scope and include a plan to correct issues involving student health and safety.
Superintendent of Schools Tom Deadrick said he was extremely pleased the SBA thought the FSHS project was valuable and saw fit to fund it.
