FAIRMONT — This coming Wednesday, students from three Marion County Middle Schools will be boarding a flight to the metro area of the nation’s capital to learn about the history of aviation.

And at the same time, the North Central West Virginia Airport will be bumping up its enplanement numbers to help comfortably reach the annual passenger goal necessary to earn $1 million in development funds this year.

Thanks to funding allotments from several local entities, 163 students and chaperones from Monongah, Fairview and Rivesville Middle Schools will board a USA 3000 plane at the Bridgeport facility Wednesday morning, fly to Washington D.C., metro area and spend the day touring the Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Va.
