Special prosecutor sought for Anderson trial

FAIRMONT — The defense counsel for a man accused of killing his infant son more than two years ago is seeking a special prosecutor for the upcoming trial.

Farmington resident Jason Clay Anderson faces a first-degree murder charge for the June 2007 death of his 11-week-old son, Jason Clay Clark Anderson.

Less than 15 minutes before a hearing in front of Marion Judge David R. Janes Tuesday, Anderson’s defense attorney, Harry Montoro, filed a pretrial motion to prohibit the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office from prosecuting the case and instead have a special prosecutor assigned.
