Wine tasting to benefit humane society

By Jessica Legge Borders

FAIRMONT — Marie’s Fine Dining & Lounge is helping the Marion County Humane Society raise money for “our furry friends.”

The restaurant, located at 1523 Mary Lou Retton Dr. across from the Armory, will hold a Wine Tasting Benefit at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available at Marie’s Fine Dining for $30 per person, and people can stop by anytime to purchase them. Only 100 tickets will be sold.

The fundraiser is in memory of Gary Beverage, who was a big contributor to the humane society, Marie Nardi said.

Nardi owns Marie’s Fine Dining & Lounge, formerly known as Carlo Italian Delights, with Charlie Fawcett. Nardi and Fawcett came together with Cathy Reed-Vanata and Bobby Brock from the humane society to plan the Wine Tasting Benefit as a way to support the organization.
