BRIDGEPORT — Four ladies from Rowlesburg were on a mission Friday.
Judy Likins and her two daughters, Kim Mayne and Lori Sisler, and Peggy Helmick, who is like their second mother, got up at 3 a.m. and left an hour later to begin their all-day shopping excursion.
On the day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday, they kicked off the traditional Christmas shopping season at the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport with countless other shoppers.
Likins, Mayne, Sisler and Helmick, who shop together on Black Friday every year, checked out the different sales and carried walkie-talkies to keep in touch. They managed to get a really good start on buying their holiday presents, and they also met a lot nice people along the way.
