Matters under advisement in murder case

Callahan scheduled for Jan. 20 trial for alleged 2007 shooting of FGH nurse Hamrick

FAIRMONT — Judge David R. Janes will be taking several matters in the case of a man accused of murdering a Fairmont General Hospital nurse in 2007 under advisement in the next several weeks.

Thirty-eight-year-old Timothy James Callahan stands accused of first-degree murder for the allegedly shooting and killing 47-year-old Dorothy Ann Hamrick in December of 2007. He is set to go to trial on Jan. 20 and several pretrial motions were brought before Judge Janes in Marion County Circuit Court Wednesday.

Among them are witness statements from Captain James Merrill of the West Virginia State Police, Lt. Richard Danley and Det. Sgt. Doris James of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
