Volunteers busy organizing Christmas Toy Shop

By John Veasey

FAIRMONT — Volunteers took over the Christmas Toy Shop on Friday morning — beginning to get things ready for next Friday’s influx of parents.

The Christmas Toy Shop is a special gift giveaway for needy youngsters in Marion County — up to the age of 14.

“I think this is a wonderful project to show the children of Marion County a good Christmas in a meaningful way and a very helpful way,” the Rev. D. D. Meighen, one of the planners of the event, told the Times West Virginian.

“The committee hopes the people will abide by the honor system to help make this an event we can have every year,” Meighen said.

The Election Center has been turned into a true “Christmas Toy Shop.”
