FAIRMONT — The Fairmont State University Board of Governors has a new chairman and an empty seat at the table.
Late Friday afternoon, Andy Kniceley submitted his resignation from the BOG and from his elected position as chairman.
His resignation comes following a widely publicized event after the FSU Fighting Falcons football team lost to Concord on Oct. 31. In Thursday’s edition of the Times West Virginian, Kniceley offered an apology for an argument between him and an assistant football coach about the amount of playing time his son had during the game.
In his resignation letter, Kniceley again apologized to the university and to coach Gary Lanham.
