Students learn about finances in Mad City Money program

FAIRMONT — After participating in the Mad City Money program on Thursday, freshmen at Fairmont Senior High School gained a new appreciation for their moms and dads and the financial decisions they make.

This was the third year that the Marion County Chamber of Commerce and Fairmont Federal Credit Union partnered to offer Mad City Money, an educational budgeting simulation, to freshman students in the county’s three high schools.

The chamber’s role is to get the business community involved and set up the program at the schools, and the credit union puts the materials together and facilitates Mad City Money.
