FAIRMONT — It’s East-West football time once again.
The two city rivals will be squaring off Friday evening for the 89th time in a rivalry dating back to 1921.
But there’s another competition this year as well between the two schools. And regardless of who wins, Marion County youngsters will be the overall victors.
Principals Chad Norman of Fairmont Senior and David Nuzum of East Fairmont have issued challenges to each other.
Challenges for toys.
“Our kids will be bringing in toys all week,” Nuzum said. “We plan to start our drive on Wednesday.”
Norman said he had talked with the freshman class at his school and representatives from the top three classes.
