United Way stressing best way to donate

FamilyWize prescription drug cards are available

FAIRMONT — The United Way of Marion County is spreading the word about its services and letting folks know the best way to donate.

Last week, the organization set up a booth at the Lights on Afterschool event at the Middletown Mall. It was one of the more popular booths because they were giving out popcorn to the participants and the distinctive scent of popcorn wafted through the entire mall.

Tiffany Samuels, executive director of the United Way of Marion County, said it was a great way to get people to stop by and take a look at the services the United Way supports.

She was also making connections with parents and reminding them if they donate to the organization through their workplace, the money may not be coming home to Marion County if they work in another county.
