HOPE’s goal: Life free from violence

By Debra Minor Wilson

FAIRMONT — For a woman in the darkest hour of abuse, there is HOPE.

Licensed by the State of West Virginia, HOPE Inc. has its main office in Fairmont (304-367-1100), with outreach branches in Weston (304-269-8233), Glenville (304-462-5352), West Union (304-873-1416) and  Clarksburg (304-624-9835).

Each provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, individual and group counseling, advocacy and support services, information and referral services, community education, volunteer opportunities, transportation, relocation and cell phone program.

But only Marion County offers a shelter, a haven for women and children in abusive situations to escape for safety and security 24/7, every day of the year, free and confidential.
