FAIRMONT —
The Farmington Volunteer Fire Department hosted the grand opening of its computer center Wednesday, and many residents came to learn more about the free computer training that is available.
The VFD teamed up with the Future Generation Graduate School to set up 10 computers at the center, which is located in the fire department.
During the event, Jama Schwartz, mentor for the center, and others helped residents create login names so they could use the computers.
“The town’s been pretty good helping us out,” Schwartz said. “We’ve had people from numerous areas in the county.”
The center will offer residents free computer and Internet access. Free printing and Wi-Fi are also available, as is training for basic computer skills to advanced programs. A user name and password are needed.
