SilverSneakers fitness program coming

Geared to senior adults but open to all interested

FAIRMONT — A new fitness program, designed primarily for senior adults, is coming to Fairmont.

SilverSneakers, a physical fitness program that is offered nationwide, focuses on basic fitness and low-impact group exercise classes for older adults.

The Rev. Holley Faulkner, a pastor at The Baptist Temple who is also involved with the Celebrate Health! Coalition in Marion County, said that the program will be launching in Fairmont on Monday.

Faulkner hopes that the program will provide residents with an opportunity to meet their fitness goals.

The physical fitness classes will be offered from 8 to 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at The Baptist Temple throughout the year.
