FAIRMONT —
Every day, Sobrania Soup Opera serves hot lunches to more than 100 people.
And they’re running out of food to do it with.
“Our shelves are bare-bones,” said Executive Director Shelia Tennant.
The Soup Opera celebrated its 30-year anniversary Monday, which represents decades of feeding the hungry and homeless in Marion County.
“A lot of people wouldn’t have anywhere to go if it wasn’t for the Soup Opera,” Tennant said.
“Everything is totally free of charge.”
On average, she said, they’re serving between 113-114 people a day.
