The inaugural Pierpont Pride Day celebration for Pierpont Community & Technical College will be held Friday, Jan. 25.
The celebration will coincide with the birthday of Francis Pierpont, known as the “Father of West Virginia” and the person for whom the institution was named, as well as the sesquicentennial anniversary of the state.
According to Pierpont President Doreen Larson, the organization of the event has been a collaboration from a variety of groups and individuals.
The celebration will be an all-day-long event, beginning with a pancake breakfast kickoff reception from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Falcon Center conference rooms.
