FAIRMONT —
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department wasted no time in the New Year, making its first arrest on Tuesday.
Gary Cordell Patterson, 29, of Fairmont, was arrested on charges of child neglect resulting in risk of injury and possession with intent to deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, both felonies.
According to criminal complaints, deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Fairmont. Patterson had allegedly driven there to drop off his daughter as per a custody agreement.
Patterson contacted deputies “for assistance with a dispute between he and the child’s mother,” the complaint says.
