‘Report any suspicions’: VIDEO

‘Very trusting’ seniors are susceptible to abuse

FAIRMONT — Last year in West Virginia, more than 14,000 cases were reported among elderly or disabled adults.

Fairmont proclaimed Friday as “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day,” as representatives from the Adult Protective Services, DHHR, talked about the problem with seniors at the Marion County Senior Center.

She said anyone suspecting a senior or disabled adult is being abused should call the center at 304-366-8779 or the APS 24-hotline, 1-800-352-6513.
