Consol gives Fairview $100,000 for water line extension project

FAIRMONT — Consol Energy was honored for its contributions to Marion County during a luncheon Thursday at Westchester Village in Fairmont.

The company continued to show its support of the community by donating $100,000 to the Town of Fairview’s water line extension project. Consol representatives and Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin presented a large check to the committee that has been working on the water line project.

Thursday’s event was hosted by the Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the Marion County Commission and sponsored by Consol. The company, which was named the Corporate Citizen of the Year by the chamber at its annual dinner, has donated more than $350,000 to the local community over the past two years.
