FAIRMONT —
Much of the 400 block of Adams Street will soon be a thing of the past.
The state’s Department of Administration awarded the demolition contract to Fairmont’s Reclaim Inc., the same company that demolished the former state building on the 100 block of Adams Street.
The notice to proceed states the work can begin Monday.
RJ Williams, owner of Reclaim, said it will take a few weeks to get the demolition under way.
“We need to set up construction and safety issues and work with the city on rights-of-way for sidewalks and streets,” Williams said. “It’ll be a week or two before we’re really on site; we need to have a preconstruction meeting.”
