FAIRMONT —
In the veterinarian office months ago, Lisa Boyce cried as a mother Dachshund mix died in her arms. The mother and her pups had been shot.
Right before the mother died, Boyce named the dog Maddie and promised her she would never be forgotten.
“It’s heartbreaking that there is an individual out there who shot those puppies and a mother,” Boyce said. “She captured my heart.”
Since then, her memory has stayed alive, with the help of Boyce and her nonprofit organization Maddie’s Angels. Maddie’s Angels exists to build awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering your pets as well as adoption.
