FAIRMONT —
The West Virginia Public Service Commission (PSC) has done a water-rate study for the town of Monongah.
The PSC did the study the week of Feb. 4 because the towns of Worthington and Farmington protested Monongah’s water-rate increase that passed through council in an ordinance on Dec. 10, 2012.
Worthington and Farmington buy their water through Monongah, and with the increase that would affect them too.
The ordinance called for an increase in three phases over three years.
