FAIRMONT —
Residents of the City of Fairmont will have their chance to elect new members to city council on Nov. 6.
Seats representing the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th Districts are up for election. The candidate who receives the most votes in each district will serve on council for the next four years, with terms beginning in January 2013. All registered voters that reside within Fairmont City limits are qualified to vote for candidates regardless of the district that they represent.
Staff members at the Times West Virginian compiled a list of eight questions pertaining to city-related issues and posed them to each city council candidate. Of those eight questions, two per district were chosen at random. The responses to those two questions will be printed in daily stories throughout the week. A brief biography of each candidate will also be provided along with the candidate’s reason for why he or she deserves voter support.
