Partnership leads to increased opportunities for people with disabilities

FAIRMONT — A partnership between PACE Enterprises and the Disability Action Center (DAC) is creating increased opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout Marion County.

Modeled after the PACE Vocational Program in Morgantown, the New Vocational Services Program at the DAC opened its doors Oct. 15. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the program was held Thursday, with Delegate Linda Longstreth as the keynote speaker.

Bob Pirner, the director of development for PACE, said the program was made possible through the contributions of many.

“It’s all about partnership,” Pirner said. “This is about people pulling together and working hard to get stuff done. You can get a lot of great things accomplished if you don’t worry about who gets the credit.”
