Water transportation fee proposed

Downs PSD using Mannington’s lines, tanks and meters

MANNINGTON — Officials approved the first reading of an ordinance for a water transportation fee for the Downs District.

During Tuesday’s meeting, Mayor Robert Garcia said the area gets water through Fairmont but is using Mannington’s water lines, tanks and meters.

The ordinance is for amending the water rates for a transportation fee to Downs Public Service District, a resale customer of the city of Mannington.

Garcia said if council approves the next reading of the ordinance, then the next step would be having the PSC in Charleston approve the ordinance.
