Gary V. West has been hired as a part-time community service coordinator for the Community Corrections Program in Marion County.
The hire was approved by the Marion County Commission at its Wednesday meeting.
West will be paid $12 an hour without benefits. The budget will be revised by $3,230 to reflect this.
In July 2011, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced that his office had awarded $6,457,844 in West Virginia Community Corrections Grant Funds to 22 community corrections projects. These funds will be used to assist local communities in the establishment and continued operation of community corrections programs.
