FAIRMONT —
A Marion County man and woman were arrested Monday by Fairmont police and charged with felony child abuse resulting in injury, child abuse or neglect creating risk of injury.
According to the criminal complaint filed at the Marion County Magistrate Court, Amanda Lee Blouir, 29, and Nathaniel Jabber Beh, 24, both of 4 Rhea Terrace, Fairmont, are charged after the children’s baby sitter filed a complaint with police upon finding “bruising and welts” on the children, ages 6 and 8.
The complaint explained she had questioned the children as to how they received the injuries. Both allegedly described beatings from Blouir, their mother, and Beh, her live-in boyfriend.
CPS was notified and while they were questioning the children, officers observed and photographed injuries to the eldest child, which were bruising and red swollen welts.
Both Blouir and Beh were arrested following the complaint and allegedly admitted to beating the children with belts.
Beh allegedly said he had struck both with a belt Saturday, and Blouir allegedly said she had struck them Sunday, both times at 4 Rhea Terrace, Fairmont.
