FAIRMONT —
A year after a flood devastated the property, Ridge Runner Industries was again struck hard after a fire early Friday morning destroyed one of the warehouses on the property.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was toned by the Marion County 911 dispatch at around 1:20 a.m., and Winfield Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Mark Niggemyer said it likely began well before that.
“By the time it was called in by a passerby, it was evidently fully involved,” he said, meaning the fire had spread through the entire building. When firefighters arrived on scene, he said, it was well-involved and was beginning to endanger other buildings on the property.
