FAIRMONT —
The Marion County Board of Education has announced the individuals who will form the school bond committee.
During its meeting Monday night, the board came to a concensus on the 16 citizens that were named and will officially vote on the list at its next meeting. Board president the Rev. James Saunders said the committee needs to get started.
The following people have agreed to serve on the committee: Mary Jo Thomas, Becky Brown, Staci Strawderman, Steve Malnick, Steve Rodriguez, Rick Ott, Brenda Jo Giannis, Dixie Yann, Mike Parrish, Chris Freeman, Sonny Bartic, Debbie Johnson, Rocky Manchin, Chuck Sconish, Becky Parrish and Orie Ellen Sterling.
While the Board of Education members also made other nominations for the committee, some individuals could not make the commitment and offered to help with the cause however they could, said Superintendent of Schools Gary Price.
He said Jim Blackwood and Jeff Wise of Blackwood Associates Inc. of Fairmont and MSES Consultants Inc. of Clarksburg, the architectural and engineering consultants with the school board, have also offered to provide their assistance and expertise wherever needed.
