The schools in the Fairmont Senior High School attendance area showed how hard they have worked during Thursday night’s Local School Improvement Council session.
This meeting of the Marion County Board of Education, held at Watson Elementary School, was a chance for representatives within the Fairmont Senior attendance area to tell the board about the recent happenings at their schools and where they have needs.
The school representatives echoed their thanks to the board for approving a $720 stipend per school employee for the 2012-2013 school year, and also for using carryover monies to give each school in the county $10,000 to go toward safety or facilities.
Listed below are some of the items that those eight Local School Improvement Councils focused on:
• Fairmont Senior High School was named an Exemplary School for the eighth consecutive year and also made Adequate Yearly Progress, or AYP.
