FAIRMONT —
Olympic freestyle swimmer Chloe Sutton has deep roots leading to Fairmont.
Her grandparents and great-grandparents were originally from Fairmont.
Sutton’s grandparents, Ted and Sandra Schneider, lived in Fairmont before moving to Morgantown and then retiring and moving to North Carolina.
Sutton’s great-grandparents were Paul and Eloise Wood. They were the original owners of Wood’s Boat House off White Hall Boulevard located on the Tygart River.
In 1978, Paul sold the boat house to Pat Carr and Ron Rowland. Carr had been working for Paul since Carr was 15 years old.

Hearing set for murder suspects
The two men indicted in the 1974 triple Windmill Park murders will share a pretrial hearing on June 25.
According to records obtained at the Marion County Circuit Court, a hearing for Eddie Jack Washington and Phillip Reese Bush is set for 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in front of Circuit Judge Michael Aloi. -
