PLEASANT VALLEY — A close-knit community watched firefighters battle a blaze around 5:15 p.m. Sunday that damaged a large garage behind a house on Tulip Lane, a short hop from Valley Chapel United Methodist Church.
“It looked electrical. Everything was popping,” said Jo Shuck, who lives in a house next door to the garage. “There were flames everywhere. You could see the flames inside the garage. The burning and popping was scary.”
Volunteer firefighters from Valley, Boothsville, Winfield, Monongah and Bunner Ridge extinguished the flames before the fire was able to spread.
