FAIRMONT —
A fire in Grant Town early Wednesday morning destroyed a home in what firefighters are calling a “total loss.”
According to Marion County dispatch logs, the fire was reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Grant Town Volunteer Fire Department Chief John Riley said crews arrived on scene shortly following, with emergency medical services reaching the house by 3:10 a.m.
Conditions at the scene were a “fully involved structure fire,” Riley said.
He said it took quite some time to knock down the flames, and the fire department was cleared hours later, at 7:30 a.m.
