Every year, the Salvation Army puts up its iconic Angel Tree, which allows people to grant the Christmas wishes of thousands of children who otherwise might not find anything under the tree on Christmas morning.
But not every angel makes it off the tree, and the organization needs help to take care of those kids. This year, they’re getting it from some seemingly surprising sources.
Thinkin’ Ink Tattoos in conjunction with area bikers made a donation of toys and cash to the Salvation Army as part of the Youngen’s second annual Memorial Toy Run.
Shawna Swiger said that her late husband started the tradition years ago to help kids who otherwise might not enjoy Christmas.
“We do it in memory of him,” she said, “trying to bring it back.”
