Arrest ‘expected’ in Fairmont woman’s death

Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department denies that a suspect in the case is ‘at large’

FAIRMONT — The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday denied that a suspect in the case of the death of a 45-year-old Fairmont woman is “at large.”

In a news release issued to local media outlets Tuesday, Monongalia County Sheriff Al Kisner said that his department has not charged anyone in conjunction with this case. The release said only that “an arrest is expected” and did not indicate whether the potential suspect is already in police custody.

In the release, the sheriff’s department also officially confirmed the Jan. 29 death of Fairmont resident Kimberly Kay Gregory.

    A Fairmont man has been indicted by the Office of the United States Attorney Northern District of West Virginia on a child pornography charge.
    Clyde Bates, 67, was named in a one-count indictment charging him with possession of child pornography in Fairmont on Aug. 27, 2010.
