Former county teacher acquitted

Boylen to pursue efforts to get his former job back

FAIRMONT — Curtis Boylen, a former Marion County teacher accused of assaulting his former stepdaughter in 2007, was acquitted of all charges earlier this week following a four-day trial in Marion County Circuit Court. 

And now, as the 37-year-old Fairview resident works to return his life to normal, Boylen is also pursuing efforts to get his job back with the local school system. 

Boylen was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual abuse by a guardian in 2007 following what have proven to be unfounded allegations by his now-17-year-old former stepdaughter, Katie Francis.
